有一只小老鼠名叫豆豆。它和河马是一对好朋友。一天它哼着歌来到河马家，走进院子，院子里静悄悄，一个人影也没有。

于是它就大声地叫了起来：“河马兄弟，河马兄弟。”只听屋里传来一阵微弱的声音。小老鼠觉得怪怪的，就飞快地跑进屋里，看见河马兄弟侧着脑袋躺在床上，满脸通红，这可把豆豆吓了一大跳，它就急忙跑过去，摸了摸朋友的头啊，好烫啊！就叫它赶快上医院。只听河马低声说：“哎，我走不动啦。”小老鼠又急得像热锅上的蚂蚁团团转。

突然它急中生智想起来了，就像剑一般飞出家门，到外面召集了一群伙伴，又借来了一辆小板车，用两根绳子固定在手柄上，这样它们一个挨着一个用力地向前拉，可是它们用了九牛二虎之力，还是拉不动，这可把豆豆急坏了。

正在这时，河马打了一个喷嚏，小板车像长翅膀似的向前飞去，跟在后面的小老鼠们拼命地追呀追，终于追上车子，它们高兴地一个个的都跳上车子，坐在河马的身边。

成了一辆喷气板车，顺利的把河马送到了医院
