《Fighting Elites》读后感(一)：第一部，第二章 第二次世界大战

这一章在考据，写作，编辑方面水平算是略超过英语书中的平均水平。 各个单位都面面俱到的做了介绍，资料没有重大遗漏， 相对国内现有中文资料的水平，还是填补了大量的空白。

相对较好的小节是：陆军突击队，海军战斗爆破队，海军侦查突袭者，和海军水下爆破队，四个部分。

《Fighting Elites》读后感(二)：第一部，第一章1676-1918

可以深挖的八卦無數：

例如本傑明富蘭克林與豪；

十七世紀的清教徒領袖的思維定式，以及某些在今天看來是非人性的東西。

還有無所不在的錢的問題。。。

作為學術體論文，寫作方法該算四星，

史實和校對出錯也很少，不像二戰及戰後那要寫那麼多的注解。。。

《Fighting Elites》读后感(三)：可以给八分半

This is the go-to book for finding important facts about (almost) every special forces unit, starting 100 years before the Revolutionary War up to 2011. The book would be a useful reference for any military history buff. It is thoroughly researched with copious citations for further reading.

It could serve as a military school text with this one reservation: It is marred by spelling errors, confusing sentence structure, and outright poor grammar. It loses one star for it. Considering the author's credentials and the price of this book, there is no excuse for poor its spelling and grammar. I hope the next edition benefits from serious editing by a competent English grammarian. Such editing will turn it into an excellent reference.
