端午节家家户户包粽子吃粽子。传说吃粽子，是为了纪念古代楚国伟大的爱国诗人屈原。屈原一生写过许多著名诗篇，提出过许多爱国的政治主张。但是，当时的国王并不愿意采纳的建议，再到后来国土沦丧，屈原满怀忧愤，跳入汨罗江自尽。人们为了怀念他。两千年来，每年在端午节，人们把粽子投入江中，不让小鱼小虾吃屈原的尸体。四面八方的人划着龙舟前来汨罗江打捞屈原的尸体，后来就形成端午赛龙舟的习俗。

有一首儿歌是这样唱的:五月五，是端阳，插艾叶，戴香囊，吃粽子，撒白糖，龙船下水喜洋洋。

我每年都到爷爷奶奶家去过端午节。我最喜欢他们家端午节的那种气氛，满屋栀子花香和着棕叶、艾草的香味，寓意着生活美满幸福。最绝的是奶奶包的粽子，不仅式样好看，而且有很多中口味。蜜枣味的、红豆味的、牛肉味的、猪肉味的、豆沙味的……。今年端午节，我一下吃了七八种口味的粽子，把我肚子涨的连路都走不动了。

它从汨罗江的波浪里悄然走来，几千年前的那朵浪花犹如一滴水彩，把中华大地染成粽叶式的青绿，从此让每一个角落都弥漫着亘古不变的艾香。

春的离去，夏随之而来，不知不觉中，生活中多了些粽绿和艾香。

在这个节日，总能看到有人用粽叶包裹住那白花花的糯米和那红彤彤的粽枣，再裹成好看的形状（因为地域不同，所以包裹好的形状都会有所不同），最终一马莲固定，代表着这个节日的食品——粽子，便包好了。

记得在我的记忆中，记得最清楚的便是将粽叶编织成花环戴在头上满地跑，这可是儿时的一大糗事。但也是从那时开始端午成为我盼的节日。

在我的家乡，还有一个习俗便是戴吉祥五彩绳。端午前后，总有许多孩子们在手上、脚上戴上五彩绳。看到这或许有人还不明白五彩绳为何物？五彩绳是一种由五种彩色小绳编织在一起而成的手绳（脚绳）。在我们这有个传说是：戴上五彩绳可保好运，而在端午节过后的第一场雨就得拿下五彩绳，以免好运杯淋湿。

今天是端午节，也是我们中国的传统节日，是我们纪念古人屈原的节日。在这一天我们可以吃美味的粽子。

早上妈妈早早的起床了为我们准备了丰盛的早餐，我和刚从开江回来的姐姐津津有味的吃着。但是妈妈说要我们打扫房间、客厅的清洁。我和姐姐便开动了，不一会我和姐姐就把清洁打扫完了。

干完这些便帮妈妈择菜，突然妈妈喊我到楼下买啤酒。我便拿着钱出门了，买完我回到家后。看见二姨爹已经到了我们家，妈妈还一边唠叨说：你外公咋没来？我不是让人转告他了吗。不一会儿的功夫妈妈把一大桌丰盛的菜肴做好了，我们就只等外公和爸爸了。

时间已经12点了爸爸早早的回来了，我们左等右等外公还是没有来。我们就没有等了，妈妈今天做了好多菜。油炸鱼、粽子、酸鱼汤、辣子鸡、油炸松饼、花椒黄瓜等等。都是我最爱吃的菜，还有鱼那可是我二姨爹亲自在河里钓，吃着可香了。

唯一的遗憾是外公没来，但是这个端午还是过的十分快乐！

赛龙舟、吃粽子是端午节的主要活动内容。相传龙舟竞渡是为了捞救投汨罗江而死的爱国诗人屈原。再把粽子投进江河，是为了让鱼蛟虾蟹吃饱了肚子，不再去吃屈原的遗体。每逢端午节，人们会将屋子里打扫的干干净净，在厨房里洒满了雄黄水，是为了用来杀死毒虫与防止毒虫卵生。

许多风俗都会与“五”这个数字联系在一起。大人有红、黄、蓝、白、黑五色线系在儿童的脖颈、手腕或足踝上，名称长命线。各家需插“五端”：菖蒲、艾草、石榴花、蒜头、龙舟花。而南方过端午节要食“五黄”：黄鱼、黄瓜、咸鸭蛋黄、黄豆瓣包的粽子、雄黄酒。无论南方还是北方，这一天要用雄黄酒在儿童的额头上画个“王”字，还要佩戴五颜六色的香囊。
