人在不同的阶段有不同的目标，大目标由若干个小目标组成。比如，我要完成优异的学业，对总体设定目标，对各科又都设定了分目标，语文我要坚持每天的随笔，数学及其它学科要坚持日清周清。

正如文中所写，没有目标的人，岁月的流逝只意味着年龄的增长，平庸的他们只能日复一日地重复自己。那么最后，人生的结局就会像文中的驴一样，被蒙住眼睛，一生原地打转，永远走不出狭隘的天地。设定的目标必须要明确，否则会不知道怎样去实现目标，就会像卡尔基调查中的部分人，人生没有太大起色。

我听到过这样一个故事：在一次马拉松比赛中，一位名不见经传的日本选手经过长途跋涉，终于赢得了第一名。当记者问他为什么可以赢得第一时，他回答到：“我每一次训练，都会给自己定一个目标，而且每一次的目标都比前一次高。如果没有达成目标，我就会持续练习。”听完这个故事，我受到了很大启发。是的，设定目标可以使人不断进步。在学习中，我也学着为自己设定目标。

以前，我英语口语很差，老师时常打电话到家里来，指出我的不足，妈妈为此也非常担心，我也一直很烦恼。一天，我想为什么不像那位日本选手一样给自己定一个目标呢？就这样，我定下了一个目标：每一次口语考试，都要比上一次有进步，最后争取成为全班第一，甚至年级第一。为此，我特意邀请妈妈做我的学习监督人，妈妈欣然答应。为了达成目标，我要求自己每天跟着录音机练习语音语调，对着课本练习造句和对话。
